Write a different version per network
Keep one post but give each account its own text: short for X and Bluesky, longer for LinkedIn. Each version is checked against that network's limits.
Networks have different audiences and limits. SolMarrow lets you write one post and still give each account its own wording.
How it works
- In the composer, choose your accounts under Post to.
- Write the main text in the All accounts tab. Every account gets this text unless you change it.
- Click an account's tab (next to All accounts) and edit the text. The note "Only this account gets this version." confirms it.
- A small dot on the tab shows that the account has its own version.
To go back to the shared text, clear that account's version.
Ideas that work well
- X and Bluesky (280 and 300 characters): keep one sentence and the link.
- LinkedIn (3,000 characters): add context, a short story or bullet points, and end with a question.
- Telegram and Discord: a friendly tone and a clear call to action work best in communities.
- Mastodon: add a few relevant hashtags; they are how people find posts there.
- WordPress, Ghost and DEV: the first line becomes the title unless you set one, so start with a strong headline.
Tip: Write the longest version first and trim it down. Cutting is easier than expanding.
