Connect Ghost
How to connect Ghost to SolMarrow step by step, what you can publish, the limits, and tips for better Ghost posts.
What you can post: Your Ghost site.
How to connect
- Open Accounts in the SolMarrow sidebar.
- Choose Ghost.
- In Ghost Admin, open Settings → Integrations, add a custom integration and copy its Admin API key. Paste the key and your site address into SolMarrow. It works the same for Ghost(Pro) and self-hosted sites, and deleting the integration in Ghost removes SolMarrow's access.
- Back in SolMarrow, the account shows as connected. You can now pick it under Post to in the composer.
What you can publish
- Published posts: A title of up to 255 characters, your text as paragraphs, tags and images, live on your site at the time you choose.
- Ghost drafts: Save the post as a draft in Ghost Admin instead, then finish it in Ghost's editor when you're ready.
Limits
- Text: up to 100,000 characters.
- Media: up to 10 images.
- The first line becomes the title unless you set one.
Tips
- Choose a strong feature image: Ghost themes usually show the feature image at the top of the post and in post lists. A wide, uncluttered image works well at both sizes.
- Use tags as topics: Ghost gives every tag its own archive page. Keep a short, consistent set of tags so readers can browse your site by topic.
- Polish drafts with cards: For long pieces, save a draft and add Ghost's editor cards, like callouts, bookmarks or galleries, before you publish.
- Keep a steady rhythm: Readers come to expect a schedule. Pick a day and time you can keep every week, and let the calendar hold you to it.
Questions
Does it work with Ghost(Pro)?
Yes. SolMarrow works with Ghost(Pro) and with self-hosted Ghost. Both connect the same way, with your site address and an Admin API key.
Where do I get the Admin API key?
In Ghost Admin, go to Settings → Integrations and add a custom integration. Ghost shows its Admin API key, which you paste into SolMarrow. Delete the integration any time to remove access.
Can SolMarrow set the feature image?
Yes. The first image you add becomes the post's feature image, and any other images appear inline in the post.
Can I save posts as drafts in Ghost?
Yes. Choose to save the post as a draft and it appears in Ghost Admin, ready for you to finish and publish there.
