Connect Telegram
How to connect Telegram to SolMarrow step by step, what you can publish, the limits, and tips for better Telegram posts.
What you can post: Channels and groups.
How to connect
- Open Accounts in the SolMarrow sidebar.
- Choose Telegram.
- Add @Solmarrowbot as an admin of your channel with the "Post messages" right, or as a member of your group. Then post the one-time code SolMarrow shows you; it works once and expires after 15 minutes, and in a group a group admin has to post it. The bot deletes the code message afterwards when it can.
- Back in SolMarrow, the account shows as connected. You can now pick it under Post to in the composer.
What you can publish
- Text messages: Plain text posts of up to 4,096 characters, for news, announcements and daily digests.
- Photo and video posts: A photo or video with a caption. Once media is attached, Telegram limits the caption to 1,024 characters, and videos can be up to 50 MB.
- Albums: Up to 10 images and videos in one post, sent as a Telegram album. Photos and clips can be mixed in the same album.
Limits
- Text: up to 4,096 characters (1,024 when media is attached).
- Media: up to 10 images or up to 10 videos.
Tips
- Keep captions short: With the 1,024-character caption limit, put the key message next to the media. If you need more room, send the long text as its own post.
- Group related photos: An album of event photos or product shots looks cleaner in the chat than several single posts, and it keeps subscribers' feeds tidy.
- Post on a schedule people can expect: Subscribers get used to a rhythm, like a morning digest or a weekly roundup. A consistent time makes your channel part of their routine.
- Don't flood notifications: Channel posts can notify every subscriber. Posting less often, with each message worth reading, keeps people from muting or leaving.
Questions
Can I post to a private Telegram channel?
Yes. Telegram lets a bot post in any channel where it's an admin, public or private. Add @Solmarrowbot as an admin with "Post messages" and connect it with the one-time code.
Do I need to create my own Telegram bot?
No. SolMarrow uses one shared official bot, @Solmarrowbot, on Telegram's Bot API. You only add it to your channel or group.
Can I schedule posts to a Telegram group?
Yes. Add the bot as a member of the group, then a group admin posts the one-time code SolMarrow shows to finish connecting.
My connection code stopped working. What now?
Each code works once and expires after 15 minutes. Ask SolMarrow for a new code and post it in the channel or group.
